Visible Thinking in Physical Education and Sports Coaching

Past Webinar

Overview

How do we create an environment in our sports teams and physical education classes where thinking is valued, visible and actively promoted?
This session begins with the premise that ‘thinking is the engine of learning’ and explores how we can support game-based practical approaches with an environment, intentional questions, and purposeful interactional routines to enhance thinking.

In this session, participants will:

-explore the types of thinking that build understanding
-explore various thinking routines and the ways in which they encourage thinking and learning
-identify opportunities to utilise thinking routines in sports coaching and PE teaching episodes
-develop an understanding of the factors that will enhance or inhibit students’ and players’ thinking
