Barbara is an educator who found her passion in Education 11 years ago teaching Mathematics in Middle School at the American Nicaraguan School in Managua. As a Systems Engineer she found her truest passion when integrating Technology in her Algebra 1 classes, which made her being promoted to a K-12 Educational Technology coach position where she carried out and developed the school’s Technology strategic plan with her EdTech team’s support. Currently, Barbara is part of the Cognita’s schools group in Vietnam, working as a K-5 Technology Integration Specialist at International School Saigon Pearl where she collaborates with Cognita’s Asia EdTech team to improve the learners’ education experience and outcomes, and teacher effectiveness by utilizing technology. Barbara’s focus is to create purposeful, authentic and engaging learning experiences and to scaffold her instruction according to each learner’s individual needs. Outside of the classroom Barbara enjoys dancing and Crossfit.
