Reflecting on, and for, Meaningful PE

Past Webinar

Overview

Teachers are often told that reflection is important to the ongoing development of our practice – at least that’s what they said in teachers’ college! But, once we get into the daily chaos that is teaching in schools today, how can we meaningfully engage in critical reflective processes? Perhaps more importantly, how might those processes bring meaningfulness to both our physical education pedagogy and our students? Drawing on sources such as Dewey’s theory of experience, methodologies of practitioner research, the reflective practice literature, teacher stories and aspects of the meaningful physical education framework, this session will focus on practical and applicable strategies for critical reflection. Participants will learn about and engage in several forms of reflective practice and begin to apply them to their own unique contexts.
