Ryan Persaud

Ryan has been in education for 20 years and worked for schools on 3 different continents. Ryan is an innovator and progressive educator, pushing the boundaries of education as a design thinker, inquirer, project based educator, and social justice advocate.

Ryan is currently the Head of School at VERSO International School. He recently moved to Thailand from Brazil, where he was serving as the Director of IT and Innovation at the International School of Curitiba. Ryan has spent 20 years in Education, working in Thailand, Brazil, South Korea, and Canada. He has served such roles as Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning, Instructional Program Leader, and Classroom Teacher. He is a Doctoral Candidate in Educational Leadership from the University of Western, Ontario, holds a Bachelors in Education and Masters in Education from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelors in Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Emily Cave

Director of Professional Development, Schrole

Emily Cave has worked in Education in both the US and overseas for the past 20 years. Currently the Director of Professional Development for Schrole in Perth, Australia, Emily has also served as a Founding Head of School, PS-12 Principal, Literacy Coach, Professional Development Coordinator, Grade 1 Teacher, and Reading Recovery Teacher. Emily earned a master's degree of Collaborative Teaching and Learning and holds double bachelor's degrees in English and Education from the University of Iowa.

Sam Cowley

Director of Customer Experience, Schrole

Originally from the UK, Sam is a reformed recruitment consultant with 16 years’ experience across multiple industries in Europe, Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, from which he hopes he’s learned something.
Driven by a fascination with people, Sam firmly believes that all organisations stand and fall on their ability to attract and retain the right talent. He has spent the last 6 years working with Schrole Group to help international schools recruit, onboard, screen and develop staff and faculty, with a particular focus on process improvement and use of smart technology to inform good hiring decisions.

Nick Kendell

Nick Kendell is the Senior Associate for Australia and New Zealand and also works with candidates from around the world. Nick also organises the Australasian Fair in January each year and the Bangkok Fair. Nick started his international teaching career in 1995, and has since worked across 3 different continents. He began at the Hong Kong International School, where he held a variety of positions in the Upper and Lower Primary schools. After spending 9 1/2 years in Hong Kong, Nick moved back to Australia to take up a Deputy Principal role at Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston, Tasmania. After 4 1/2 years in this role, Nick moved to Cairo in 2008 to become the Head of Primary at the New Cairo British International School. He completed his time in Cairo, and returned to Australia in July 2011 to take over the role of a Senior Associate with Search Associates.

Catriona Moran

Richard Pratt

Foreign Principal, JPED Academy, Beijing
Richard has been in education for over 30 years having worked universities and independent and international schools in the UK and China, including Hong Kong. He is currently Foreign Principal at JPED Academy in Beijing, one of China's most progressive and creative schools. He has previously held leadership positions including head of a K12 school, Director of Education for a regional group, and founding Director of a unique satellite campus. He learnt his trade in the UK, primarily through fifteen years at Eton College, as well as in independent day and state institutions. His took his first degree at the University of Oxford, has Master's degrees from the Open University of the UK and University College, London, and teaching qualifications from the Universities of Surrey, Huddersfield, and Melbourne.

Carrie Sanders

International Recruitment Consultant

I have been working in international education in some capacity for the last 15 years. My first post abroad was teaching at a small chain of language schools in Southern Poland. After that I was in Shanghai for 6 years in educational management and HR. I have also worked as an HR manager for a school in Abu Dhabi and spent a year in Saigon as an Academic Director of a growing chain of test prep centers. Now, I have settled in Europe again and I am happy to be back in recruitment!

Dr. Jen Ricks

For the last twenty-five years, Dr. Jen Ricks has designed and led innovative programs in schools, districts, and state departments of education. She is currently the Director of Learning at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi, a premier, non-profit, U.S. accredited school comprising 67 different nationalities. In addition to serving as a senior leader in top tier international schools for more than a decade, she is also an experienced speaker, coach, author, and consultant.

Kirsten Durward

Kirsten Durward is an international educator with 30 years of international experience, including leadership positions in five schools. A CBCI trainer and IB workshop leader, Kirsten co-creates virtual learning events and consults with schools to develop bespoke trainings, particularly around transdisciplinary learning, conceptual inquiry, and developing writing.

She supports thousands of educators through professional learning networks and offers pedagogical leadership and career coaching. She has presented at EARCOS, AISA, TIES, PYP Leaders Bootcamp, and the QF Teaching and Learning Forum. Kirsten believes that the potential for learning is unlimited and that global professional events are here to stay!

Justin Hardman

Justin has a passion to support schools in better integration of technology into school programs with a focus on strategy, leadership and planning for systemic change. He has a background in programming and web development including development of a customized learning platform that was featured in conferences from Washington DC, Shanghai and Singapore and in international ed-tech publications.

He was previously Director of Technology at Hong Kong International School where he led the school through a variety of digital learning initiatives including development of a customized solutions, leading a technology planning process and implementing at 1:1 laptop rollout.

Justin has a Bachelors in Economics from the University of Queensland, is a Google Certified Trainer and an Apple Distinguished Educator. He is a New Zealand and Australian citizen but has lived in Hong Kong longer than anywhere else.

Beth Pfannl

Beth has 30+ years of experience in international education. She was most recently the long-standing head of the American Overseas School of Rome prior to joining ISS in 2016. Beth served on the ECIS Board, as president of both AAIE and the Rome International Schools Association (RISA), and as a trustee of The American University of Rome. She earned her doctorate from the Sorbonne in Paris, her BA from McGill University and holds a CAGS in School Administration from Rhode Island College. Fluent in Spanish, Italian and French, and learning Dutch, Beth brings a very strong international perspective to ISS. In addition to leading leadership searches and overseeing our teacher recruitment services, Beth runs the annual Mary Anne Haas ISS Women’s Leadership Symposium and speaks regularly worldwide on the importance of cultivating diversity in global leadership roles. Based in Amsterdam, Beth loves to spend time with family, travel, and learn new languages.

Benjamin Sheridan

Ben Sheridan has been a proud educator for 18 years. He has taught in international schools in Thailand, India, Cambodia, Korea, and Indonesia. Ben has worked as a classroom teacher, learning innovation coach, technology coordinator, instructional designer, university lecturer, and consultant. Ben is passionate about using sound pedagogy together with innovative technology to accelerate learning. He feels technology can be leveraged to enhance literacy, increase student motivation and engagement, and empower students to take control of their learning. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on professional learning.
