I want my students to be skilled and creative users of technology; but more importantly, I want my students to be thoughtful users of technology. Students in my class understands that they have a responsibility in using technology in positive and respectful ways; and that they understand that the actions they make, can and will impact others due to our global interconnectedness.
Originally from Canada, I have worked in Hong Kong for over 15 years, and have taught a variety of different subjects. I enjoy challenging myself to continuously find creative ways to apply technology meaningfully to stretch my students' learning, and my own as well! I have worked in different school roles and am currently enjoying the role of Community and Services Coordinator where I provide experiences to nurture concepts of social responsibility and sustainability.
Teacher designing for diversity can implement technology effectively within the curriculum and has the potential to extend learning in powerful ways. It can also empower students’ voices and ensure that learning is a student-driven process.
I have been teaching in primary school (International Baccalaureate accredited schools) for 13 years and Chinese Language Learning centre for 7 years. I am a MakerSpace Thinker, Learning Technology Integrator and Gifted & Talented (G&T) coordinator who aims to integrate maker education into both taught curriculum and G&T programmes. As an educator, I love taking on challenges in my teaching and I am not afraid of changes. I still believe I have a young heart and mindset that keeps motivating me to revolutionise education and expand my horizon.
